Kia has launched the Carens Clavis EV in India on 15 July 2025. The Carens Clavis EV is a 3-row, 7-seater electric MPV which shares a lot with its cousin, the Hyundai Creta Electric. Both cars come with the same set of battery & motor specifications.

Battery & Range:

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is available in two battery options: 42 kWh & 51.4 kWh. The larger 51.4 kWh battery offers a longer range, up to 490 km. The 42 kWh version has a claimed range of 404 km.

Kia is providing an 8 year warranty on the Carens Clavis battery.

Charging time and connector options:

Home Charging: Using a 11 kW AC home charger, the 42 kWh & 51.4 kWh variants can charge from 10%-100% in 4 hours & 4 hours 45 minutes respectively.

Public Charging Station: At a 100 kW public EV charging station, both variants charge from 10%-80% in 39 minutes and support the CC2 connector, widely available across India.

The Carens Clavis EV blends a bold design with cutting-edge features. The car’s cabin offers a spacious 7 seater layout with a dual-tone navy blue & beige scheme enhanced by a 26.62 inch dual display for infotainment & instrumentation. Other key features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8 speaker Bose audio system and Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous safety features like adaptive cruise control.

Pricing:

Prices for the 42 kWh variant start from Rs 17.99 lakh, and for the 51.4 kWh variant start from Rs 22.49 lakh.

Competition:

The Kia Carens Clavis EV will be up against the BYD eMAX 7 and the soon-to-be-launched MG M9 EV.
