The Mahindra XEV 9e is an electric SUV based on the auto manufacturer\u2019s new INGLO platform. Out of Mahindra\u2019s two new e-SUVs, the XEV 9e is the larger & more expensive. The \u2018XEV\u2019 branding ties the model to the company\u2019s XUV range SUVs, but the XEV 9e is not just an electric variant of the XUV700. Its much more than that.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battery & Range:<\/b><\/p>\n

The XEV 9e will come in two LFP battery options: 59 kWh & 79 kWh. The 59 kWh variant offers a range of 542 km, while the 79 kWh will provide a range of 656 km.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mahindra also claims a 500 km range for the 79 kWh variant with the air conditioning running. BYD will supply its Blade batteries for the Mahindra XEV 9e.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battery Warranty:<\/b><\/p>\n

Mahindra is offering a lifetime warranty on the XEV 9e\u2019s battery which is applicable for the first owner of the vehicle. In case of an ownership transfer, the battery warranty will be 10 years from the car\u2019s delivery date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Charging Time, Speed & Compatible Chargers:<\/b><\/p>\n

Both variants of the XEV 9e are compatible with CCS2 DC fast chargers and Type 2 connectors for slow charging at public charging stations. They support chargers with a capacity upto 175 kW, which can charge the electric SUVs from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes<\/p>\n

Home Charging Options:<\/b><\/p>\n

AC charging options include an 11.2 kW AC charger which recharges 0% to 100% in 8 hrs (for 79 kWh) & 6 hrs (for 59 kWh). The 7.3 kW Type 2 AC charger can recharge from 0% to 100% in 11.7 hrs (for 79 kWh) & 8.7 hrs (for 59 kWh). These AC chargers have to be purchased separately.<\/span><\/p>\n

EV Architecture:<\/b><\/p>\n

The XEV 9e is built-on Mahindra\u2019s scalable & modular INGLO platform which employs a 3-in-1 powertrain made up of the motor, inverter & transmission. All of Mahindra\u2019s upcoming electric cars will be based on this INGLO skateboard architecture which has been co-developed by Mahindra & Volkswagen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The XEV 9e comes with a triple 12.3-inch screen setup, which includes the central infotainment touchscreen, the driver\u2019s digital display & also a screen for the side passenger).<\/span><\/p>\n

The infotainment touchscreen also controls the drive modes & climate control.<\/span><\/p>\n

The car features a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, multi-zone AC, 7 airbags, ventilated & powered front seats, dual wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera system, auto parking functionality, an augmented reality based heads-up display & a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.<\/span><\/p>\n

The XEV 9e\u2019s panoramic sunroof has designs & patterns and it can change colours. It also provides UV protection. The SUV comes with a massive 663 L bootspace and 150 L frunk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pricing:<\/b><\/p>\n

The XEV 9e will be available in three variants: Pack 1, Pack 2 & Pack 3. Pack 1 comes with the 59kWh battery pack and is priced at Rs 21.90 lakh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pack 2 also comes with the 59kWh battery and is priced at Rs 24.90 lakh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pack 3 comes in two battery options. The 59kWh \u2018Pack 3 Select\u2019 is priced at Rs 27.90 lakh and the 79kWh Pack 3 is priced at Rs 30.50 lakh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bookings will start on 14th February 2025 and deliveries will start in a phased-manner from March 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Competitors:<\/b><\/p>\n

The Mahindra XEV 9e will compete with the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.<\/span><\/p>\n
