All charging stations were discovered through the app, and Anuj confirmed that the power ratings, availability and status displayed on EVJoints matched what he experienced on the ground.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1402\" data-end=\"1705\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828207d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-1.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-1.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1896\">This narrative captures the journey, the impressive efficiency of the XEV 9e, the charging experience and several insights EV travellers can use while planning their next long highway trip.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1932\"><strong data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1932\">The Journey at a Glance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1934\" data-end=\"2362\">\u2022 Total distance covered: <strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1971\">1127 km<\/strong><br data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"1974\" \/>\u2022 Total SOC used: <strong data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2000\">214%<\/strong><br data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2003\" \/>\u2022 Real world range delivered: <strong data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2063\">around 526 km per 100% SOC<\/strong><br data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2066\" \/>\u2022 Outbound travel time: <strong data-start=\"2090\" data-end=\"2139\">about 8 hours including a short charging stop<\/strong><br data-start=\"2139\" data-end=\"2142\" \/>\u2022 Reached Lucknow with <strong data-start=\"2165\" data-end=\"2176\">50% SOC<\/strong> after topping up only 50%<br data-start=\"2202\" data-end=\"2205\" \/>\u2022 Return leg: left at <strong data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2248\">6 PM with 80% SOC<\/strong> and reached home at <strong data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2290\">2 AM with 20% SOC<\/strong><br data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2293\" \/>\u2022 Total meaningful charging time across both days: <strong data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2362\">under one hour<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2369\" data-end=\"2406\"><strong data-start=\"2371\" data-end=\"2406\">Heading Out: Gurgaon to Lucknow<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2408\" data-end=\"2556\">The journey began at 8:30 AM from Gurgaon with about 60 kg of luggage in the boot. The plan was simple: drive comfortably and stop only when needed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2558\" data-end=\"2791\">The first long stretch to ADA Toll Plaza covered <strong data-start=\"2607\" data-end=\"2631\">227 km using 40% SOC<\/strong>, pointing toward an impressive real world range of about <strong data-start=\"2689\" data-end=\"2699\">560 km<\/strong>. Even with slower state highway traffic toward the end, the efficiency remained consistent.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2793\" data-end=\"3126\">The first stop was at an <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.adani.cms&amp;hl=en_IN\"><strong data-start=\"2818\" data-end=\"2835\">Adani Network<\/strong><\/a> charger near ADA Toll Plaza. Although the unit was listed at 60 kW, it was delivering close to 40 kW. When another XEV 9e arrived, the charger split power and both cars received around 20 kW. With charging speed too low to justify waiting, Anuj unplugged within minutes and continued ahead.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2793\" data-end=\"3126\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828209d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-5.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-5.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3314\" data-end=\"3350\"><strong data-start=\"3316\" data-end=\"3350\">The Fast Charge and Lunch Stop<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3352\" data-end=\"3542\">The actual charging happened at another <strong data-start=\"3392\" data-end=\"3409\">Adani Network<\/strong> station equipped with a 200 amp 250 kW setup. Two EVs were already plugged in and both were receiving around <strong data-start=\"3519\" data-end=\"3528\">90 kW<\/strong> consistently.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3352\" data-end=\"3542\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828211d1765017329-mahindra-xev-9e-review-7.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-7.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3544\" data-end=\"3761\">A <strong data-start=\"3546\" data-end=\"3571\">20 minute lunch break<\/strong> was all it took to raise the SOC from about <strong data-start=\"3616\" data-end=\"3630\">20% to 90%<\/strong>. This turned out to be the only meaningful charging session for the outbound journey, adding the required <strong data-start=\"3737\" data-end=\"3748\">50% SOC<\/strong> for the day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3544\" data-end=\"3761\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828212d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-8.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-8.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3768\" data-end=\"3813\"><strong data-start=\"3770\" data-end=\"3813\">A Controlled Efficiency Test at 90 kmph<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3815\" data-end=\"3906\">On a flat 100 km stretch, Anuj decided to check how the XEV 9e behaves at a steady 90 kmph:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3908\" data-end=\"4024\">\u2022 Distance: <strong data-start=\"3920\" data-end=\"3930\">100 km<\/strong><br data-start=\"3930\" data-end=\"3933\" \/>\u2022 SOC used: <strong data-start=\"3945\" data-end=\"3952\">19%<\/strong><br data-start=\"3952\" data-end=\"3955\" \/>\u2022 Regen: <strong data-start=\"3964\" data-end=\"3972\">Zero<\/strong><br data-start=\"3972\" data-end=\"3975\" \/>\u2022 Estimated range: <strong data-start=\"3994\" data-end=\"4024\">around 526 km for 100% SOC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4026\" data-end=\"4208\">This is extremely reassuring for EV owners who prefer constant high speed cruising. Even at what many consider a worst case highway scenario, the XEV 9e maintained strong efficiency.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4215\" data-end=\"4256\"><strong data-start=\"4217\" data-end=\"4256\">Reaching Lucknow with Room to Spare<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4258\" data-end=\"4329\">The car rolled into Lucknow at around <strong data-start=\"4296\" data-end=\"4328\">5 PM with 50% SOC still left<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4258\" data-end=\"4329\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828214d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-9b.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-9b.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4331\" data-end=\"4468\">In simple words, the XEV 9e could have completed the entire Gurgaon to Lucknow drive <strong data-start=\"4416\" data-end=\"4445\">without any charging stop<\/strong> if Anuj had chosen to.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4470\" data-end=\"4571\">Later that evening, he topped up to <strong data-start=\"4506\" data-end=\"4533\">80% in about 30 minutes<\/strong> at a Glida charger near Lohia Garden.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4470\" data-end=\"4571\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828215d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-10a.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-10a.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4578\" data-end=\"4622\"><strong data-start=\"4580\" data-end=\"4622\">The Return Journey: Lucknow to Gurgaon<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4624\" data-end=\"4860\">The return run began at <strong data-start=\"4648\" data-end=\"4669\">6 PM with 80% SOC<\/strong>. Navigating narrow streets and diversions in Lucknow became an unexpected highlight. The 360 and 540 degree camera systems helped Anuj inch through tiny lanes where most SUVs would hesitate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4624\" data-end=\"4860\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828225d1765016103-mahindra-xev-9e-review-j4.png\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-j4.png\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4862\" data-end=\"5099\">Once the car reached open roads, the evening highway drive was peaceful. The only planned stop was the <strong data-start=\"4965\" data-end=\"5010\">Adani 240 kW charger near <a href=\"https:\/\/evjoints.com\/tools\/ev-charging-station-locator\/agra\/\">Agra<\/a> Toll Plaza<\/strong>. This charger had been offline during the outbound run, but it was active on the return.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4862\" data-end=\"5099\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/forum\/attachments\/electric-cars\/2828216d1765015774-mahindra-xev-9e-review-10b.jpg\" alt=\"Mahindra XEV 9e Review-10b.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5101\" data-end=\"5276\">The car plugged in and immediately started drawing around <strong data-start=\"5159\" data-end=\"5168\">90 kW<\/strong>. A <strong data-start=\"5172\" data-end=\"5193\">28 minute session<\/strong> took the SOC from the mid levels to the required buffer for the remaining journey.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5278\" data-end=\"5445\">Even with cold weather around 12\u00b0C and airflow at 90 kmph cooling the pack, the XEV 9e continued charging without any dips. The first <strong data-start=\"5412\" data-end=\"5444\">5% arrived in just 3 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5447\" data-end=\"5509\">The car reached home at <strong data-start=\"5471\" data-end=\"5492\">2 AM with 20% SOC<\/strong> still available.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5516\" data-end=\"5567\"><strong data-start=\"5518\" data-end=\"5567\">Efficiency and Running Cost in the Real World<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5569\" data-end=\"5706\">Across the entire 1127 km journey, the XEV 9e consumed <strong data-start=\"5624\" data-end=\"5636\">214% SOC<\/strong>, which aligns to a real world full charge range of around <strong data-start=\"5695\" data-end=\"5705\">526 km<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5708\" data-end=\"5910\">The vehicle uses around <strong data-start=\"5732\" data-end=\"5744\">39.4 kWh<\/strong> of usable battery. Based on this range, the consumption works out to around <strong data-start=\"5821\" data-end=\"5844\">7.49 kWh per 100 km<\/strong>, which is exceptionally efficient for constant high speed travel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5912\" data-end=\"5991\">With an average DC tariff of <strong data-start=\"5941\" data-end=\"5959\">Rs. 25 per kWh<\/strong>, the running cost works out to:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5993\" data-end=\"6062\">\u2022 Around Rs. 1.87 per km<br data-start=\"6021\" data-end=\"6024\" \/>\u2022 Approximately Rs. 187 per 100 km<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6064\" data-end=\"6203\">For the entire 1127 km trip, the total energy cost was roughly <strong data-start=\"6127\" data-end=\"6139\">Rs. 2100<\/strong>, which is extremely affordable for a two day intercity journey.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"6210\" data-end=\"6242\"><strong data-start=\"6212\" data-end=\"6242\">Why the Experience Matters<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"6244\" data-end=\"6330\">What stands out is not just the efficiency, but the predictability. SOC increased from about 20% to 90% during a 20 minute lunch break.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7152\" data-end=\"7229\">\u2022 <strong data-start=\"7154\" data-end=\"7187\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.glida.in\/\">Glida<\/a> charger in <a href=\"https:\/\/evjoints.com\/tools\/ev-charging-station-locator\/lucknow\/\">Lucknow<\/a> city: <\/strong>30 minute top up to 80% after meetings.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"7231\" data-end=\"7273\"><strong data-start=\"7235\" data-end=\"7273\">Return Journey: Lucknow to Gurgaon<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"7275\" data-end=\"7440\">\u2022 <strong data-start=\"7277\" data-end=\"7319\">Adani Network 240 kW charger near Agra: <\/strong>Only stop on the return leg. 28 minute session added the charge needed to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/evjoints.com\/tools\/ev-charging-station-locator\/gurgaon\/\">Gurgaon<\/a> with a comfortable 20% buffer.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"7447\" data-end=\"7467\"><strong data-start=\"7449\" data-end=\"7467\">Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"7469\" data-end=\"7796\">This 1127 km highway run in the Mahindra XEV 9e shows how practical long EV journeys in India have become. With predictable range, low running costs, strong charging performance and accurate planning through EVJoints, a route like Gurgaon to Lucknow is no longer an experiment.
