And this story from one of our users, Gopal, a 60-year-old EV owner from Chennai, proves that perfectly.
The Plan Behind the Journey
Gopal drives a Citroën eC3 (29.2 kWh) and is no stranger to long drives. He’s already done:
- Chennai–Pondicherry – 300 km
- Chennai–Yelagiri Hills – 450 km
- Thalakona Falls near Tirupati – 400 km
But his recent 986 km round trip from Chennai to Mysore and back was his longest one yet.
“I started planning a week in advance,” Gopal shared. “I checked PlugShare and MG’s eHub, but the EVJoints app gave me more stations and helped me plan every 150 km stop confidently. That made all the difference.”
He and his wife packed for two days and left Chennai at 5:30 a.m. on September 28, trusting the route mapped on the EVJoints Trip Planner.
The Drive and the Stops
On his way to Mysore, he charged three times —
- Pallikonda (Zeon)
- Krishnagiri (Relux)
- Mathikere (Charge Zone)
By 7 p.m., they reached Srirangapatna, where they stayed overnight.
The next morning, they visited Chamundeshwari Hill Temple, Mysore Palace, grabbed some Mysore Pak, and began their return journey after lunch.
On the way back, Gopal charged four more times —
They reached Chennai by 4 a.m. on September 30, with 44% battery still remaining.
Throughout the drive, Gopal maintained a steady 50–90 km/h, averaging 80 km/h, and completed the entire trip himself.
