India is embracing the electric vehicle revolution whole-heartedly and the torch-bearers of this revolution are electric scooters. According to a report by market research firm JMK Research, the sales of electric scooters, in the first half of 2023, were 4.56 lakh units, which is nearly double when compared to the previous year.

Electric scooters have become increasingly popular in India over the past few years. With rising fuel prices, people and corporates alike are turning to electric two-wheelers for transportation needs. The country’s electric two-wheeler market is growing rapidly with a variety of electric scooters & motorcycles on offer.

Perhaps the most important characteristic to take into consideration when choosing an electric scooter is battery capacity. The battery capacity determines the range of an electric vehicle. It is the measure of the charge a battery can store and is represented in kWh. Higher the battery capacity, better is the driving range per charge.

The electric scooter segment has seen the highest acceptance from customers because of the price parity with its petrol counterparts and low running cost. India has also recently seen an increased demand in last-mile connectivity and E2Ws have emerged as the preferred mode of transport. An EV’s higher daily utilization considerably lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) per kilometre, in comparison to petrol two-wheelers.

I want to Know if Ather Rizta has LPF cell Chemistry battery or NMC cell Chemistry battery.
Ather mentions on their website that they have been working on LPF cell Chemistry for long time. However it does not mean they are using LPF chemistry battery. It is also clearly not mentioned that they use LPF cell chemistry battery in their Rizta model.

      Hi Sir,
Thank you for your query. While Ather has been working on LPF (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cell chemistry, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are using it in the Rizta model. According to available information, the Ather Rizta uses NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) cell chemistry.
