Tata Nexon EV is India’s best-selling electric car. The electric SUV from Tata Motors received its latest facelifted version in September 2023 featuring a redesigned front with a full-width LED light bar and multiple battery options.
Battery & Range:
The Tata Nexon EV comes in 3 battery options: 30 kWh, 40.5 kWh & 45 kWh. The Nexon EV’s 30 kWh variant offers a range of 275 km. The 40.5 kWh variant offers a range of 390 km. The 45 kWh variant offers a range of 489 km. All variants come with 8 year battery warranty.
Tata Motors has branded the 30 kWh variant as Tata Nexon EV MR (medium range), the 40.5 kWh variant as Nexon EV LR (long range) and the 45 kWh variant as Nexon EV 45. Tata Motors has used the same LFP prismatic cells as in its Curvv EV in the 45 kWh variant of the Nexon. As a result, the Nexon EV 45 features a higher 1.2C charge rate like the Curvv. Charging Speed:
With a 7 kW AC charger, the Nexon 30 kWh battery variant can charge from 10-100% in 4.3 hours, the 40.5 kWh variant can do the same in 6 hours and the 45 kWh variant takes 6.5 hours. Using a 50 kW DC fast charger, the 30 kWh & 40.5 kWh variants can go from 10-80% in 56 minutes. Using a 60 kW DC fast charger, the 45 kWh variant can do the same in 40 minutes.
Compatible Connectors:
All Tata Nexon EV variants are compatible with 3.3 kW slow chargers for home charging and can be charged with 7 to 22 kW AC fast chargers at home or at public charging stations. For quick charging during long trips, you can use CCS & CCS2 DC fast-chargers at public charging stations.
