The EV’s 39.4kWh battery delivers a certified range of up to 456km. As far as charging is concerned, it can go from 0-80% in 50 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger. A 7.2kW AC charger can fully charge the car in 6.5 hours.Mahindra is going all out to capture a chunk of the Indian EV market by working on a line-up of EVs and setting up car charging stations at its showrooms. The expected price range of the XUV400 is Rs.17-20 lakh and the car will be launched in January 2023.
2. Tata Altroz EV : The new Tata Altroz EV is likely to host a 30.2kWh battery unit with a range of 250-300km. However, Tata Motors is likely to offer 2 battery options. The Altroz EV will have premium interiors with an aeroplane-like cockpit. When launched, the Altroz EV will be the only premium electric hatchback in the country.
Tata Motors has some of the best electric cars in the Indian market and the Altroz EV will add to it. The expected price is Rs.14 lakh and the car is expected to be launched in January 2023.
3. MG Air EV : The Air EV is based on the ‘Wuling Air’, which is MG’s sister brand. This two-door compact city car will be launched at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo in January. It will come with a battery capacity between 20-25kWh and a certified range of 150km.
Passenger safety has been given top priority in the Air EV and dual front airbags and a rear parking camera are likely to be included in all models of the car. The expected price is Rs.10 lakh.
4. Citroen C3 Electric : The C3 Electric will be the first EV from Citroen in India. The electric hatchback is likely to get a 50kWh battery pack with a certified range of 362km. The C3 electric will feature a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a rear-view camera. The exteriors will be similar to its ICE-powered version. A test variant of the car was spotted being tested & charged near Pune recently.
Citroen India aims to position the C3 Electric as an affordable city car. The expected price is Rs.12 lakh and the car is likely to be launched in April 2023. When launched, the C3 Electric will take on the newly launched Tata Tiago EV.
5. Skoda Enyaq iV : Skoda India is likely to launch its first electric SUV ‘Enyaq iV’ in January 2023. Globally, the car is available in three battery options: 52kWh, 58kWh & 77kWh. The 77kWh model was spied testing on Indian roads. This model is known for 0-100 km/hr acceleration in 6.9 seconds and has a certified range of up to 513km. As far as features are concerned, the Enyaq iV boasts of a 13-inch touchscreen, an electronic sunroof and heated front & rear seats.The expected price is Rs.60 lakh. When launched, it will compete with the Kia EV6 & the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
