Vietnam-based automaker VinFast has entered the Indian market with two offerings: VF6 & VF7. Both are electric SUVs, with the VF7 being the bigger of the two. Vinfast has rapidly expanded its presence in India as part of its global strategy to tap into the world’s third-largest automotive market.
The VF7 is available in five trims: Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky & Sky Infinity, and provides two battery options and two motor setups.

Battery & Range:
The VF7 is offered in two LFP battery options: 59.6 kWh & 70.8 kWh. The VF7 Earth (base variant) is equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery which gives a range of 438 km. All other variants come with a 70.8 kWh battery which gives a range of 532 km.
VinFast is offering a 10-year/2,00,000 km warranty on the VF7 battery.
Charging:
The VF7 is compatible with Type 2 chargers (for slow charging) and CCS2 chargers (for fast charging) at public EV charging stations. At home, the VF7 supports 3.3 kW & 7.2 kW AC charging. With CCS2 DC fast charging, the 59.6 kWh battery variant can juice-up from 10%-70% in just 24 minutes, and the 70.8 kWh variant can do the same in 28 minutes.
And to attract buyers, VinFast is offering free charging at its ‘V-Green’ charging stations until July 2028, and three years of free maintenance. With V-Green, VinFast aims to set-up 15000 EV charging stations in a year across India. Also, the company has joined hands with TVS, Global Assure & RoadGrid for after-sales service.
Drivetrain:
The VF7 Earth, Wind & Wind Infinity comes with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup. And the Sky & Sky Infinity variants (top variants) get an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.
Features:
The VinFast VF7’s cabin features premium vegan leather upholstery and a choice of either all-black or black & brown themes, paired with a panoramic fixed glass roof. Central to the dashboard is a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Other key features include dual-zone climate control, ventilated and power-adjustable seats, reclining rear seats, all-LED lights, seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, and a high-resolution 360-degree camera setup.
Pricing:
Local assembly has enabled VinFast to competitively price the SUV. The VinFast V7 Earth (base variant) is priced at Rs 20.89 lakh. The V7 Wind is priced at Rs 23.49 lakh. The V7 Wind Infinity is priced at Rs 23.99 lakh. The V7 Sky is priced at Rs 24.99 lakh. And the V7 Sky Infinity (top variant) is priced at Rs 25.49 lakh.
Competitors:
The VF7 will compete with Mahindra XEV 9e, Tata Harrier EV, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, etc.
