Why We Hit the Road
This weekend reminded me of what truly matters in life. We packed our bags, hopped into our Tata Nexon EV, and left Gurugram at five in the morning. It was more than just a trip. It was a journey back to memories, a step toward making new ones, and a quiet moment to reflect on how far the electric movement has come.
Our route was simple. From Gurugram to Agra, with a visit to Fatehpur Sikri, and then back home. What unfolded along the way was a story worth telling.
The Joy of Travel
The timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal still leaves you breathless. I have seen it before, but this time, something felt different. Maybe it was the silence of the electric car. Maybe it was the shared smiles inside the cabin.
Or maybe it was standing at the gates of Buland Darwaza in Fatehpur Sikri, surrounded by history and overwhelmed by its scale.
But beyond the monuments, it was the small moments that made it special. The calm highways, the smooth ride, and the comfort of traveling with family in an electric vehicle all came together to create something unforgettable.
The Charging Stops That Meant More
What made this trip personal was the charging stations. These were not just stops along the way. They were parts of my professional past.
Our first break was at the AARGO EV charger located near Asli Pappu Dhaba. I had been involved in bringing this station to life, and charging there felt like visiting an old friend. In Agra, we charged at a Zeon Charging station. I had the privilege of onboarding Zeon as a strategic customer in my previous role. To now be charging at their station as a traveler brought a deep sense of pride.
On our way back, we stopped at the BMW dealership in Agra, where the Recharge EV charger is installed. This is part of the BMW charging network I helped build during my time setting up infrastructure. Watching it work as intended, serving customers like me, made me pause. It was satisfying to see ideas and effort turning into something real.

Today, at BRIGHTBLU, I continue to contribute to the growth of charging networks. Working with Zeon again, now as a vendor, makes it feel like life has come full circle.

What I Learned on This Journey
- Planning EV Trips makes the drive peaceful. Knowing where to charge in advance gave us total confidence. Suggest to use any EV trip planner if you are not familiar with the route. There was never any concern about the battery running low.
- Charging infrastructure is no longer a problem. The growth in available stations across providers is real. They are working, accessible, and reliable.
- EV travel is very affordable. We covered 565 kilometers for just over Rs. 1000.
- There is pride in the progress. Watching stations, I once helped launch serve me and other travelers is more than rewarding. It reminds me that every role we play contributes to a cleaner future.
A Journey That Meant More Than Distance
This trip was not just about reaching Agra and coming back. It was about traveling with purpose, about looking at the future while remembering the past. It was about finding joy in both the destination and the drive.
As someone who has worked on the backend of electric mobility, to now experience it from the driver’s seat is a special feeling. It is not often that you get to use what you once built.
Sometimes, progress is not about numbers. It is about moments. And this journey was full of them.
